We're excited to announce our partnership with The Things Network, a global, crowdsourced, open, free and decentralized IoT network.
Just a few months ago these guys managed to cover the entire city of Amsterdam with a new type of wireless network using a technology called LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide-area network).
LoRaWAN is a low battery, long range, and low bandwidth new data network technology. This technology allows things to connect to the internet without using 3G or WiFi, making it perfect for the IoT.
Join forces with codebender and The Things Network, and become a member of a network made by users for users, and don’t rely on large telco corporations anymore. Crowdsource the network and make it public without any form of subscription.
We are thrilled to welcome The Things Network to our family of supported partners. To complement this partnership we will also add their “The Things Uno” board in our growing list of 84 supported boards, and include their LoRa library in our list of 512 supported libraries.
Show these guys your love by visiting their Kickstarter page, but hurry because the campaign ends in less than 22 days!
