We are beyond excited to announce that the brand new version of Codebender is officially up, running, and ready for you at codebender.cc!

This launch marks the completion of our full platform rebuild. As part of this transition, the old platform at legacy.codebender.cc has now been permanently shut down. We want to thank every maker, educator, and developer who accompanied us through the transition phase and shared early feedback during our alpha and beta previews.

What’s New in the Rebuilt Codebender

The new Codebender was re-engineered from the ground up to eliminate friction and give you the fastest path from code to running microcontroller hardware.

• Direct WebSerial Communication: Forget browser plugins, helper applications, or driver headaches. As long as you are using a modern browser with WebSerial support, you can connect to your board and flash sketches in seconds right from your browser tab.
• Curated Base Arduino Libraries: We’ve streamlined how libraries work. Rather than managing tricky personal libraries and legacy dependencies, Codebender now provides a reliable, curated set of base Arduino libraries that work seamlessly out of the box. Need something specialized? You can include custom library files directly within your project or request additions to the platform library set.
• Streamlined Board Ecosystem: We’ve refreshed board compatibility to focus on rock-solid support for popular AVR boards, with expanding support for additional architectures (including Espressif ESP32/ESP8266 and RP2040) rolling out. Pro and Class subscribers can also request custom board integrations.
• Refreshed Modern Editor & UI: Enjoy an intuitive, distraction-free coding experience with responsive controls, an integrated serial monitor, and built-in light and dark themes styled to match your workflow.
• Faster Cloud Compilation: Our updated backend compiler toolchain delivers rapid compile times and cleaner, more actionable compiler diagnostics.

Note for existing subscribers: All active subscriptions and recognized lifetime accounts from the original platform have been carried over to equivalent Pro status on the new site.
