New Blog & Tutorials

unleash the creativity!

Cheer up, fellas! codebender's blog has now been completely revamped! We deciced to start using the well-known blogging platform, WordPress, which helps us spread the news about codebender easier, and you can now expect more news and blog posts from us.

Talking about more blog posts, we are starting a new section on our blog. Introducing.... codebender tutorials! Each week, we will show you cool things you can do with Arduino, codebender, and other cool devices. Starting with this week's special edition, our very own, geeky christmas tree!

New examples view

look, ma, I can program my Arduino with this example!

With great power comes great responsibility. And with 301 active external libraries in codebender, come 1056 examples! Just wow. We didn’t even realize we passed these two amazing milestones until just now. With so many libraries and examples to choose from, it’s easy to get lost, so we wanted to improve the experience.

You’ll notice some improvements in the libraries page, and we’ve vastly improved the example view, including the ability to try an example without cloning it, and to embed it on other websites.

Editor updates

You asked, we delivered.

A lot of people (including ourselves) asked for the ability to resize the editor and the compilation output, and, well, we did it.

We also added another much-requested feature, the ability to download the compiled .hex file from the editor page.

Compiler fixes

compiling is a tough job, but someone has to do it

Starting to notice a pattern here? That’s thanks to the illustrious Mr. Fotellos, who’s making excellent progress on our compiler infrastructure. Once again, we’ve fixed some projects, library examples, and we improved compatibility with the default Arduino IDE.

In da hood

Under-the-hood updates in codebender. There's a lot going on behind the scenes

There’s a host of improvements you’ll never see, but we’re proud of them either way. We’re talking about things like a 250X* speed improvement on our compilation tests, and other improvements that help us improve codebender for you.

*yes, that’s 250X. As in 25000%.
